Mountain Fruit, a real heimish store

Mountain Fruit's at it again but what else is new.  Chicken sauce is supposedely on sale for $1.99.  Last week, either Wednesday or Thursday, it rang up as $2.99 and, this being Mountain Fruit, the checkout girl obviously started arguing with me that it's not on sale.  After verifying herself that, guess what, it actually is on sale, she corrected it to $1.99.

Today, the last day of sale, the same bottle again rang up as $2.99 and again the checkout girl, different one this time, started arguing with me that it's not on sale.  After correcting the price, she managed to forget to remove one of the $2.99 entries and had to pay me $2.99 cash on my credit card purchase.  So at least I managed to cost the store a few pennies, makes me happy.

If you've bough chicken sauce in Mountain Fruit between last Wednesday and today, you've been overcharged $1/bottle.

  2. You've never heard of chicken sauce?! What do you put on chicken when you bake it?!

Mountain Fruit is a nasty place and this has hapened before. They'll have a sale and the whole week the sale is on, it's not in the computer. People end up overpaying for stuff if they don't watch the prices being rung up. And I'm not even gonna talk about all the spoiled food they sell.

  3. well now I'm experimenting with different things, did you see my Bissli chicken at MM's KC?

But we use Duck sauce generally.

yea, I actually found not kosher ice cream there one time...

But yea now that I think about it I remember my father looking at the receipt and realizing they didn't charge right and then going back there for them to correct it.

Btw, you know Tomorrow Pomegranate is having their anniversary, and anyone whose birthday is that day gets cash. Then there are other things to celebrate, which I forgot.

  4. And they freaking argue about it, on the last day of sale! Maybe they don't the sale items on first day, but on last day, come on!

Glatt Mart is so much better. Each cashier has a copy of the sales and they usually know when something rings up weird.

But, I'm a whore, so for money, I'm gonna go to Mountain Fruit anyway, but I keep make sure all prices are correct.

  5. Yeah, but you think of the number of people they manage to screw over on a daily basis...

  7. Well, if the problem was there last week, and it's still there. Maybe not on purpose, but definitely because they don't care. And same for spoiled food.

  8. Yep. A couple of weeks ago I tried to buy their cheese that was on sale and it rang up full price. When I came to ask for price adjustment the cashier 'explained' to me that different cheese was on sale. The fact that a HUGE sign said otherwise didn't seem to bother her. I ended up just switching the cheese only because I didn't have time to wait for a manager or take off the sign and bring it to the cashier.
    Got to love 'heimish'!

  9. Happened to me on Purim, twice, with the same damn chocolate bar. And the first time, the cashier was looking at me waiting for me to call the manager. WTF?!

  12. I once had spoiled soup. Brought it in the store for refund to have the manager smell the pleasant aroma. Refund was promptly issued. Alan
